Working with Albert Normandin

In October, I spent some time at home in Vancouver where I had the chance to collaborate with Albert Normandin, an internationally award-winning photographer and native of Coquitlam, B.C. He has retained a strong connection to his roots in Coquitlam all these years and even built a quaint house with this brother - from the ground up! We worked together on his glorious second floor: a custom-built studio equipped with a dozen automatic skyline shutters to filter (out) light and a gutted couch to use in shoots... We played for hours making stop-motion films and fun stills. I really appreciated this shoot because I felt it was one of the first times I was encouraged to let my silly out - a state in which I feel is my most natural.

And then, taking multiple stills within seconds, Albert made this stop-motion film. Here I am wearing my EMD shirt, inside-out, and a backwards AA dress. I'd like to call this "Doll."
